About Us

In 1973, Dr. George Brown, a radiation oncology physician at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, came to Austin for a specific purpose: To help people by providing state-of-the-art cancer care. Dr. Brown quickly brought in technologies and leading-edge capabilities found only in major academic cancer centers. He founded the group that would become Austin Cancer Centers and Georgetown Cancer Center in Central Austin, Texas, building it on two simple principles: Provide people the highest standard of care, and do it with the utmost compassion and dedication.

Treating people with the experience & expertise they deserve.

Today, our practice consists of a large team of physicians, nurses, and support personnel who understand cancer. Together, our highly trained and board-certified cancer physicians have well over a half-century of experience. In addition, we — doctors and staff alike — have cared for thousands, building our expertise by focusing on each person’s unique situation and needs. As a result, we have become sought after for our skill, knowledge, and ability to handle even the most challenging cases.
